Who We Are
Welcome to the LiterArte Foundation located in the city of Las Vegas, Nevada.
The LiterArte Foundation was created in December 2022 in order to celebrate the 1st International Meeting of Hispanic Writers.
Taking small but firm steps, we continue to contribute to promoting the artistic work of the Hispanic community in Las Vegas.
Everyone is invited to participate in our activities.
Bienvenidos a la Fundación LiterArte ubicada en la ciudad de Las Vegas, Nevada.
La Fundación LiterArte fue creada en diciembre de 2022 con el fin de celebrar el 1er Encuentro Internacional de Escritores Hispanos.
Dando pequeños pero firmes pasos, hemos contribuido a promover el trabajo artístico de la comunidad hispana en Las Vegas.

Our Mission
Our mission is to empower the Hispanic community through the promotion of literacy, arts, and culture. We believe that access to education and appreciation of one's cultural heritage are fundamental rights that enrich lives and strengthen communities.
Through innovative programs and partnerships, we strive to provide resources, opportunities, and spaces for individuals of all ages to develop their literacy skills, engage with diverse artistic expressions, and celebrate the richness of Hispanic culture.
By fostering a love for reading, writing, and creative expression, we aim to equip individuals with the tools they need to succeed academically, professionally, and personally. Additionally, we seek to create a vibrant cultural hub where community members can come together to explore, learn, and preserve their heritage.
Ultimately, our goal is to inspire a lifelong passion for learning, creativity, and cultural pride within the Hispanic community and beyond, contributing to a more inclusive and equitable society for all.
Nuestra Misión
Nuestra misión es empoderar a la comunidad hispana a través de la promoción de la alfabetización, las artes y la cultura. Creemos que el acceso a la educación y la apreciación del patrimonio cultural son derechos fundamentales que enriquecen la vida y fortalecen a las comunidades.
A través de programas y asociaciones innovadores, nos esforzamos por brindar recursos, oportunidades y espacios para que personas de todas las edades desarrollen sus habilidades de alfabetización, interactúen con diversas expresiones artísticas y celebren la riqueza de la cultura hispana.
Al fomentar el amor por la lectura, la escritura y la expresión creativa, nuestro objetivo es equipar a las personas con las herramientas que necesitan para tener éxito académico, profesional y personal. Además, buscamos crear un centro cultural vibrante donde los miembros de la comunidad puedan reunirse para explorar, aprender y preservar su herencia.
En última instancia, nuestro objetivo es inspirar una pasión permanente por el aprendizaje, la creatividad y el orgullo cultural dentro de la comunidad hispana y más allá, contribuyendo a una sociedad más inclusiva y equitativa para todos.
What We Do
We host art exhibitions, book presentations, poetry recitals, concerts and creative workshops with the aim of expanding knowledge about the arts by bridging the gap between writers, artists, orators and musicians and our community in order share the importance of the arts and how they inspire us all to make a positive impact on the world at large.
Que Hacemos
Organizamos exposiciones de arte, presentaciones de libros, recitales de poesía, conciertos y talleres creativos con el objetivo de ampliar el conocimiento sobre las artes reduciendo la brecha entre escritores, artistas, oradores y músicos y nuestra comunidad para compartir la importancia de las artes y cómo inspirarnos a todos a tener un impacto positivo en el mundo en general.
The 10 Commandments of a Perfect Storyteller
1. Believe in the teacher (Poe, Maupassant, Kipling, Chekhov) as in God himself.
2. Believe that your art is an inaccessible peak. Don't dream of dominating it. When you can do it, you will get it without knowing it yourself.
3. Resist imitation as much as you can, but imitate if the influence is too strong. More than anything else, personality development takes patience.
4. Have blind faith, not in your ability to win but in the ardor with which you desire it. Love your art like your girlfriend, giving it all your heart.
5. Don't start writing without knowing from the first line where you are going. In a well-crafted story, the first three lines are almost always as important as the last three.
6. If you want to express circumstance with concern, “A cold wind blew from the river,” there are no more words in human language than those expressed to express it. Once you own the words, don't worry about observing whether they are consonants or assonants.
7. Don't use adjectives without need. Useless will be how many glues you attach to a weak noun. If you find the right one, it will only have an incomparable color. But you have to find it.
8. Take the characters by the hand and lead them firmly to the end, without seeing anything other than the path you traced for them. Don't get distracted by seeing what they can't or don't care to see. Don't abuse the reader. A tale is a novel refined of cuttings. Consider this an absolute truth, even if it is not.
9. Don't write under the rule of emotion. Let it die and evoke it. If you are able to relive it as it was, you have reached halfway.
10. Don't think about friends when writing, or the impression your story will make. Tell it as if the story had no interest except for the small environment of your characters, of which you could have been one. There is no other way to get life in a story.
Decálogo del perfecto cuentista
1. Cree en el maestro (Poe, Maupassant, Kipling, Chejov) como en Dios mismo.
2. Cree que tu arte es una cima inaccesible. No sueñes con dominarla. Cuando puedas hacerlo, lo conseguirás sin saberlo tú mismo.
3. Resiste cuanto puedas a la imitación, pero imita si el influjo es demasiado fuerte. Más que cualquier otra cosa, el desarrollo de la personalidad es una larga paciencia.
4. Ten fe ciega, no en tu capacidad para el triunfo sino en el ardor con el que lo deseas. Ama a tu arte como a tu novia, dándole todo tu corazón.
5. No empieces a escribir sin saber desde la primera línea adónde vas. En un cuento bien logrado, las tres primeras líneas tienen casi siempre la misma importancia que las tres últimas.
6. Si quieres expresar con inquietud esta circunstancia “Desde el río soplaba un viento frío”, no hay en lengua humana más palabras que las expresadas para expresarla. Una vez dueño de las palabras, no te preocupes de observar si son consonantes o asonantes.
7. No adjetives sin necesidad. Inútiles serán cuantas colas adhieras a un sustantivo débil. Si hallas el que es preciso, él solo tendrá un color incomparable. Pero hay que hallarlo.
8. Toma a los personajes de la mano y llévalos firmemente hasta el final, sin ver otra cosa que el camino que les trazaste. No te distraigas viendo tú lo que ellos no pueden o no les importa ver. No abuses del lector. Un cuento es una novela depurada de ripios. Ten esto por una verdad absoluta, aunque no lo sea.
9. No escribas bajo el imperio de la emoción. Déjala morir y evócala. Si eres capaz de revivirla tal cual fue, has llegado a la mitad del camino.
10. No pienses en los amigos al escribir, ni en la impresión que hará tu historia. Cuenta como si el relato no tuviera interés más que para el pequeño ambiente de tus personajes, de los que pudiste haber sido uno. No de otro modo se obtiene la vida en un cuento.
